During the journey to Lhasa, you'll have the opportunity to catch glimpses of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, also known as the Brahmaputra River, which is the longest and largest river in Tibet, as well as the picturesque Lhasa River.
After reaching Lhasa, it is recommended to take some time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude, given the city's elevation. If you're feeling up to it, you can explore the nearby Potala Square. Here, you can admire the colorful fountain and capture breathtaking photographs of the iconic Potala Palace and its surrounding area, making for a memorable start to your visit to Lhasa, Tibet.

Your tour today begins with a visit to the illustrious Potala Palace, the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Dating back to the 7th century when it was first used by the 33rd great king of Tibet, the Potala Palace holds immense historical significance. Within its walls, you'll discover precious treasures, including the gilded burial stupas of past Dalai Lamas and the meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Following a satisfying lunch, you'll proceed to the Jokhang Temple, founded by the same 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside the temple, you can marvel at the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you'll witness pilgrims offering their prostrations in reverence to the Jokhang Temple. The temple is encircled by Barkhor Street, where you can engage in the kora, a sacred circumambulation practice, alongside pilgrims and locals while exploring the vibrant old market.
In addition to these enriching experiences, you'll have the chance to savour Tibetan tea at a local tea house and partake in a welcome dinner, adding to the cultural and culinary delights of your day in Lhasa, Tibet.

Your morning adventure begins with a visit to the captivating Dadong Village, celebrated as one of the most beautiful villages in Lhasa. Situated 25 kilometers southwest of Lhasa's city center, Dadong Village is a well-preserved ancient Tibetan village nestled amid picturesque valleys. Upon arrival, your itinerary includes a visit to the Nyimatang Monastery, an ancient spiritual site dating back to the 11th century. You'll have the opportunity to take a leisurely walk through the village, offering you a glimpse into the serene rural life in Lhasa. As part of this immersive experience, you'll visit a local Tibetan family and relish a meal prepared by the family.
In the afternoon, your journey continues with a visit to the Sera Monastery, one of the 'great three' Gelug monasteries of Tibet. A highlight of this visit is the Monks' debate, which typically takes place between “3-5” in the afternoon. Additionally, you'll explore the Tibetan religious scripture printing house. Within the monastery, you'll be able to admire three intricate sand Mandalas and a colorful Rock Painting of Buddha. This day offers a well-rounded experience, combining the serene countryside with the vibrant monastic life of Lhasa, Tibet.

Today's journey takes you from Lhasa to the breathtaking Yamdrok Lake. Along the way, your group will ascend the Gampala Pass, reaching an elevation of 4790 meters. From this vantage point, you'll catch your first glimpse of the stunning Yamdrok Lake, situated at an altitude of 4400 meters. The lake is enveloped by a magnificent panorama of snow-capped mountains, and in the distance, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, standing tall at 7191 meters, making it the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Subsequently, you'll descend towards the lake and have the opportunity for a leisurely walk along the lake's shore, where you can take in the serene beauty of this natural wonder. After enjoying the tranquillity of Yamdrok Lake, you'll head back to Lhasa, concluding your day's journey amidst the stunning landscapes of Tibet.
